Local Transport includes Taxis, Tongas , Tempos, Buses, Cycle-Rikshaws, Auto-Rickshaws. For going to other nearby places from Haridwar Buses and Taxis are available.

Buses : Buses leave every 30 minutes for Rishikesh (1 hour) and Dehra Dun (2 hours). For Mussoorie, you'll need to change at Dehra Dun . There are ordinary bus services every 30 minutes up to 11.30 pm to Delhi (8 hours), and early morning and late afternoon and evening services to Agra (12 hours).

Buses for Shimla leave at 8 and 9.30 am (14 hours) to Nainital, at 5.30, 8.45, 9.15, 9.30 and 10.30 am (7 hours); to Almora at 5, 5.30, and 7 am (10 hours); to Ranikhet at 6.30 am and 4.30 pm (9 hours); and to Tehri (5 hours) and Uttarkashi (10 hours) at 5.30, 6.30, 8.30 and 9.30 am.

For the Char Dham (Yamnotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath), you'll need to find your way to Rishikesh. As many of the buses to these pilgrimage sites leave in the wee hours, you'd do better to stay overnight in Rishikesh at one of the hotels opposite the Yatra bus stand.

Taxi: The Taxi Drivers & Owners Association (Tel.+91-133- 427338), open 24 hours, is directly opposite the bus stand. Taxis are available for Rishikesh, Dehra Dun, Mussoorie, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Hanuman Chatti (for Yamnotri), Gangotri, Delhi , Chilla (for Rajaji National Park ), Ranikhet, Almora, Nainital, and Shimla and a nine day tour to the Char Dham.
